2013 BENEDICT RED - Red wine

2013 Benedict red

Red wine

Medium deep and still ruby despite some years of maturation. Quite pronounced on the nose displaying leather, musk, gentle oak ageing, black pepper, and dark cherries. Dry on the palate, with a good amount of tannins, that are keeping it in a good shape. Medium bodied with noticeable levels of acidity. Wine shows pleasant maturity while still retaining freshness and vibrancy.

Perfect with grill, cured meat, pasta, salami, pizza, as a barbeque wine.

  • Blaufränkisch : 60 %
  • Pinot Noir : 30 %
  • Zweigelt: 10 %

2013 vintage started late with almost optimal June and July and some of the highest temperatures in history in early August. September was rather cool and wet resulting in a white wine vintage with fresh acidities, moderate alcohol levels and lovely aromatic profiles. A classic vintage.

18 months in Slavonian oak barrels and used French barriques.

  • Alcohol content: 12,50 % vol.
  • Acidity: 5,28 g/l
  • Residual sugar content: 1,1 g/l
  • Closure type: Stelvin Lux

Ready for immediate drinking but it will last at least until 2025.
