Dveri Pax Gewürztraminer

2018 Gewürztraminer semisweet

Sweet wine

It displays pale golden colour. Aroma is pronounced, fruity and youthful. It is reminiscent of roses, lychee, and juicy ripe pears. There are also hints of nutmeg, honey, very ripe pineapple. Sweeter on the palate, with texture coating the palate. Light bodied, with intense aromatic character, with moderate but balanced acidity level. Long finish.

It goes well with spicy foods, especially Asian such as spicy salads or dishes with curry sauces. can be very much enjoyed on its own, even as a slightly different aperitif. Wine that inspires creativity. In a top Dutch restaurant, it is served with slightly smoked red gurnard fish with watermelon and verbena, dash-bouillon, seaweed, shaved citrus-ice and sake.

  • Gewürztraminer: 100 %

2018 was marked by huge downy mildew pressure in June, followed by a period of warm and dry weather in July and August. Rain in early September rushed winegrowers to pick early ripening varieties quickly while late-ripening varieties enjoyed a nice warm Indian summer. Wines of 2018 vintage in our winery are marked by low to moderate alcohol levels, vibrant acidities and clear, defined varietal characteristics. A classic Styrian vintage.

In stainless steel tanks, matured on the fine lees.

  • Alcohol content: 11,50 % vol.
  • Acidity: 5,93 g/l
  • Residual sugar content: 18,6 g/l
  • Closure type: Stelvin Lux

Although complex primary notes are essential here, we believe it will mature gracefully for another 3-4 years. Drink 2020-2023.
