The colour is medium lemon yellow. It is medium intense on the nose, quite fruity. Ripe apples, ripe pears, wet stone. Very open youthful and lively.

Bone dry on the palate showing slight effervescence and vibrant texture. Quite aromatic on the palate for this delicate and rather discrete variety. Grapefruit, lemon and some yeasty notes are enhancing its character on the palate. It finishes with a long, vibrating finish. A great summer wine and a classical Welschriesling from Štajerska.

This Welschriesling is not picky and will fit most of the casual foods and occasions. A great summer or BBQ wine. A real friend.

Vintage 2021 is third in a row, where harvest times were stretched well into October, which was very much a normality 20-30 years ago. Prolonged ripening was allowed enabling grapes to achieve perfect ripeness while having rather unusual balance with high alcohol and high acidity levels. Varietal characters are often stunningly pure. A top, classic Styrian vintage which produced many “vins de garde”.
